Whitt Family April and May 2013 -- Happy Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day from Chile
To a wonderful, kind, insightful, loving mother and grandmother.
We send our love and thanks for everything you do and everything you are.

Day at the "carnival" in our neighborhood.  We headed out for a birthday party for a boy in Sarah's class and took the family.

This was one of Emily's biggest "sog rogs" of all time.  I thought I would send it out and say this is what happens when I leave the kids with Scott.  But alas, this was on my duty.

Nice day for a hike

We saw this old "haunted" abandoned mansion.  The kids have recently taken to Scooby Doo.  Accordingly, we hiked to the house to check out the mystery.

Sarah and Allison surprised me with this beautiful, homemade flower decor taped all of our  gate.  They spent hours combing the garden for just the right flowers, and taping them in a pretty design.  Then, the had me come sit in their throne and enjoy their creation!

Time to go to the zoo with Grandpa, our first visitor in Chile

This sea lion was a true highlight of the zoo.  Who knows, but I think he used to be an entertainer.  He flirted and yelped and talked to us for a good 15 minutes up above the tank.  Then we went down to the glass window and he would swim up to the glass and just sit there looking at us!  A true showman.

A Sunday trip to the Santiago, Chile temple with Grandpa.

A very handsome grandpa, looking very photogenic with all the girls.  Luke refused to take a photo, but we got the goodbye hug.
A few shots of downtown Santiago

Emily will sing with us in the car.  Here was our attempt to catch it on film.

Alli and Sarah at their school's art fair -- they made a huge dragonfly that is in the net.

Fun Grandpa at Dunkin' Donuts.

A few shots of the 40th birthday weekend.  Scott organized a surprise birthday dinner for us and 5 other American LDS couples, who then joined us for an Amazing Race type of photo scavenger hunt in Santiago.  Everyone had a great time.
Dinner the night before with moms/friends from the international school.

Birthday party on my birthday for the crazy fun Brazilian girl in the ward.  As a zumba instructor and a Brazilian, of course, her party was all about the dancing.

The birthday dinner.

Two photos from the scavenger hunt.  The one of the right was with a security guard, whom I asked about taking his picture.  Although it doesn't look like it, he actually was quite pleased.

One day, I went looking for Emily as I hadn't heard her in a while.  I called for her and started walking around outside.  I actually started to get a little nervous, and just then, there she was sitting on (how did she climb up there???) the edge of the brick wall, just silently taking it all in.  LOVED IT.

  1. Love your pictures! Especially the saggy diaper and the flower decor and the Brazilian conga line.
